New Year

The Parable of Tomorrow

I looked at the mountain.
It is too hard Lord, I said.
I cannot climb.
Take My Hand, He whispered.
I will be your strength.

I saw the road.
It is too long Lord, I said.
So rough and long.
Take My Love, He answered.
I will guide your feet.

I looked at the sky.
The sun is gone, I said.
Already it grows dark.
Take the lantern of My Word, He whispered.
That will be Light enough.

We climbed.
The road was narrow and steep
But the way was bright.
And when thorns reacched out,
they found His hand before they touched mine.
I knew it was His love
That kept my feet from stumbling.

Then I grew tired.
I can go no futher Lord, I said.
He answered, Night is gone.
Look up, My child.
I looked up and it was dawn.
Green valleys strecthed below.
I can go on alone now, I said.

And then i saw the marks.
Lord, Thou art wounded.
Thy hands are bleeding.
Thy feet are bruised.
Was it for me?
He whispered, I did it gladly.

Then i fell at His feet.
Lord, lead me on! I cried.
No road too long
No valley too deep
If Thou with me
We walk together now and shall forevermore.
-Ruth Zwell-

Three years back, Aunt Teresa ask us to paste this 'The Parable of Tomorrow' on our journal. To be honest, it didnt struck me much. Xp..

But now as it comes to the end and the beginning, and i read it agian, it means a lot to me. Knowing that I can take His hand, i can take His love, i can take His word, it really make my heart warm.

Uncle Gan asked a few question to us in his year end message..
Q:Have you evaluate yourself?

Q:Have you grow? In relationship with people?
A:With family, ok guar.. With him, asked him? Xp.. With friends, quite..

Q:Have you grow? Spiritually? In God's word?
A:I would be glad enough to say, Yes!

I dont know what will happen in next year.. But, I will continue trusting Him..

Blessed New Year to all!!! =)

Christmas Story

Christmas cant be Christmas without the Christmas story!

So, here goes..

The Shepherds and the Angels (Luke2:8-20)
And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over thier flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel; said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."

Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favour rests."

When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about."

So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them, But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

So, see.. That's what Christmas is all about! =)

Aside from that, a little update of Matt.. He is in Singapore now, performing with the Dithyrambic Singers.. Will be back on coming Friday noon, if i'm not mistaken.. Not reachable due to lousy line which got no roaming.. But was so rich to get a line from Singapore.. wow.. =.="

Next post, will be all about Christmas events.. tata=)

Sorrow and Joy..

23rd Oct 2008-the day my uncle passed away

I got a message from mummy around 3.40pm.. asking me if i still have class and if they can come pick me earlier.. i replied and said i would prefer they come and pick me up at 10pm after PERKEB.. then, she replied back.. What i got was a message saying that my uncle had passed away around 2pm..

For more information about him, please click here.

He accepted Christ about 3 weeks ago. The pastor and some of the church member went to his house and visit him. When the pastor asked if he would like to accept and ask Jesus Christ to become his Saviour, he accepted, and the pastor baptised him at once, sprinkle but not water due to his condition.. i was indeed very glad to hear that.. and continue to prayed for him as some of his siblings scolded him for becoming a Christian..

When i received the message from mummy, i was in the bus, on my way back to college.. I hold my tears.. Melia came on the bus not long after i received the message.. i told myself, i'm so going to hold my tears till i go into my room and i'm going to ask Melia to accompany me.. After i get down from the bus, i waited for Melia, and asked her to follow me back to my room.. I failed.. my tears came out before i opened my door..

I sit on my bed, and cried.. We are supposed to go back this weekend to visit him, but...

Melia was with me till i'm okay.. and she prayed for me, for my family, for my uncle and his family too.. 'Thank you Melia..'

Now.. Mummy is on her way back with her adik angkat.. And the rest of us will go back tonight, or maybe tomorrow morning.. Pray for journey mercy, thanks..

Sadly, the funeral is not a Christian funeral.. Apparently his brother dont allow pastor to take my uncle's body away and have a Christian funeral for him.. Pastor decided not to fight with them for the body, as long as we know he's in our Father's hand...

Will appreciated if you would pray for.. (thanks in advanced..)
-My uncle
-Uncle's family, the wife and two sons, 14 and 18.. (yet to be Christian)
-My family, especially mummy
-The rest of the families
-The funeral (even though it's a Taoism funeral)
-any other stuff that i left out..

The Sorrow? The death of my uncle.. and we cant see him for one last time..

The Joy? The faith that my uncle have in our Father in heaven.. And he is now away from all the pains and sufferings.. and he is now resting in our God's arm..

I know Dear Lord, he is with You.. and i thank you Lord, it is You who take him away..

We'll meet again one day, uncle... =)

Alice's 19th Birthday

Who is Alice?

This is Alice

Qing Hui, Annie, Alice, Evon and Melia (from left to right)

She is real touched by the words on the card..

Dear Alice, May the good God bless you in every way and may you keep walking closely with our dear Father in heaven.. =)

We started a small prayer meeting not long ago, just the 5 of us for now..

The first session we had was a small introduction session. We talked about ourselves and how we can to know our Father.. It was a real encouraging session.. And we are really encouraged by each other in this session.. And we know for sure that even though our story is different, but the author of our life's story is the same-our Father in heaven.. And it's because of Him, we are bind together in love..

The second session we had was on Alice's birthday.. we had a small but sweet surprise for her, no cake, but cheese tart.. No 19 candles, but 1.. And the highlight, is the prayer that we prayed for her.. Qing Hui prayed for her spiritual life, Annie prayed for her financial and health, Melia prayed for her studies(by the way, Alice and Melia are roommates), and i prayed for her family, friends and future life partner.. It's an all-in-one-prayer..

This is amazing, people wont just get along that well after seeing each other only a few times.. but indeed, it was the faith that we hold, bind us together..

Thank God for these sisters.. =)

Good and not so good

I felt super blessed and encouraged from the sharing i heard from others last week.. Thank God for the sharing from them..

Not so good..
I felt sorry for the people who had gone through hard life.. Pray that they'll hold on to God in all circumstances..

My uncle, a cancer patient for over 10 years accepted Christ! Thank God that He touched him at last..

Not so good..
Some family members dont like the fact that my uncle is a Christian now.. Pray that God will stay close with him and not let him fall..

Study break is on it's way.. Thank God for study break to study or 'study'..

Not so good..
Gosh! The amount of assignments waiting for me before study break comes.. Pray that I'l continue to work on my assignments..

Accidentally re-active in College's Biro.. Thank God for being involved in it..

Not so good..
The Biro dont organise meeting well, wasting people's time.. I attended the meeting last night from 10.30pm-2.30am!!! It could be sort and sweet but apparently the organiser got too much time.. Pray that God will indeed grant me wisdom dealing with this Biro..

Am involved in PERKEB Malam Krismas(MK) '09.. Thank God for giving me a chance to serve..

Not so good..
They said it's not easy to make the whole thing work.. Pray that God will lead us through and may MK work well and may it be an event that brings glory to Him..

I am in good health so far.. Thank God that I woke up in time this morning and manage to go through His word..

Not so good..
I'm in the very-easy-fall-sick moment as i dont have enough rest.. Pray that God will grant me strength..

Good.. Not so good.. looks like it's balanced when i bring it all before God..

Oh.. I thank God for God.. =)
